Meet the Team: Gary Bazzana

May 31, 2017

This week we introduce Sareen Stone’s Outdoor Specialist, Gary Bazzana who has worked with us at Sareen Stone for more than 8 years.

Gary has clocked up 20 years in the dimensional stone industry this year which is a milestone worth celebrating. Before moving across to the stone industry Gary was a CPA qualified accountant – now there’s a career change – and he obviously hasn’t looked back. He’s Sareen Stone’s modern day Da Vinci combining his knowledge of design and numbers to give his clients every confidence that they have the best product at the right price for their job.

As Sareen Stone’s outdoor specialist Gary enjoys working with a diverse range of customers including designers, landscapers, pool builders and homeowners. His work is varied, meeting clients on site or in the showroom offering his experience and advice along the way. His many clients rely on his knowledge and expertise across the outdoor range of natural stone including granite, sandstone, limestone, travertine, wall cladding as well as sealers, grouts and adhesives.

Gary says that the stone scene has changed significantly since he began selling cobblestones in Sydney back in 1997. He agrees that the world has become a smaller place due to the internet age. This has meant that a larger range of products are now easily accessible from across the globe. His clients have great products to choose from in a variety of sizes and finishes from countries such as Turkey, Egypt, Portugal, Iran and Greece as well as the original supply countries like Italy and China.

While Gary has seen major changes over the last 20 years, more recently he has noticed the rise of porcelains and man-made tiles for both internal and external spaces. Maybe he’s just a classic kind of guy but he believes that in most instances there is a natural stone solution that is ‘fit for purpose’. When stone is correctly installed and maintained its still his favourite option for most projects and in his opinion natural stone sits at the top of the list for his money!

In his spare time Gary enjoys walking his loyal friend Rebel,a gorgeous Labrador/Border Collie cross, cooking up a storm in the kitchen at home and doesn’t say no to a spot of fishing when he’s not providing a taxi service for his youngest son to sports fields both locally and across the state.
